A poster on the OLPC forum reminded us all how the OLPC project got started and how it has come as far as it has: thanks to Nicholas Negroponte.

As I mentioned here, Negroponte was the keynote speaker at the 30th Internationalization and Unicode conference in 2006, where he provided a fascinating account of the origins of the project and the guiding principles (open source, etc.). I just can’t imagine the amount of legwork it has taken on his part to get to where OLPC is now.

So, just another big thank you to Nicholas Negroponte.
