One lament about ICU4J April 10, 2007

One of the few things that I would complain about with respect to ICU and ICU4J is the apparent lack of resources to keep the documentation up-to-date. The APIs and the function provided are great, but quite often the documentation is either really outdated or too cryptic.

This comparison chart is excellent, for instance, but based on ICU4J 3.2 and JDK 1.4 (for collation even ICU4J 2.4).

The FAQ even mentions that this is one of the most popular questions.

Update October 17, 2007: The comparison chart is now completely up-to-date, with comparisons between ICU 3.8 and JDK 6. Pointed out to me by one of the ICU team members who is at the 31st IUC conference in San Jose.
